Penguins are in a win now situation, draft picks aren't going to cut it.

Furthermore with the NHL doing 3.3 billion dollars in business the cap projections are at 73M. Edit: 70M according to Bob Mckenzie

Most importantly none of what I previously stated means anything until we all know what the parameters of the new CBA are.

He means more to a team than his point totals. I don't think he's a true #1 center but a ++ 2. If he hits the open market, and i think he will, h can command around 6 mil per. The best thing for him as far as earning potential would be to be traded somewhere he could play top minutes and prime pp time. If that happens he could punch in 40 goals and get a real payday.

Picks, prospects, and back up goalies are not what the Pens would look for in a return. As Gunner stated, win now mode. If thats all that will be offered, than i think you will find him playing LW next to Mr. Crosby. Personally I would hate to see him go. Time will tell.

I will let the Pens fans correct me if I'm off base here, but his role in Pitt has been in large part shut-down 3rd line and 1st PK unit, no? 50 points in that role is rather impressive, IMHO. I think he has a lot more upside offensively if his role was modified.

Not sure that stat tells the whole story in this case.

I thought you might say Woods. McIlroy went -5 through his final 15 holes after a rough start. Phil withdrew.

Tiger has to show me something in the realm of consistency before I pick him again.

Not off base. Although when Sid and Geno were out last year he didn't exactly take the bulls by the horn in that #1 role. He is a very good #2 center and could be great along side Sid as a top 6 winger. It all depends on what role he wants to play moving forward.

i don't disagree. but during negotiations, it's that point total that will be the most important factor.

after saying that he has a hard time putting 3 good rounds in a row let alone 4
